Soldiers Sailors and Airforce Association AGM

Pauline attended the Soldiers Sailors and Airforce Association (SSAFA) AGM at Cavendish Hall, Chatsworth.
Pauline was invited to attend the event by local SSAFA representative Colonel Mike Cheatham.
The meeting heard about the ongoing social support work available to former servicemen and women, particularly in Derbyshire. SSAFA does a coordination role between the many welfare agencies, to make sure that people in need receive help as quickly as possible. Bishop Humphrey from Repton was the keynote speaker at the event.
Speaking afterwards, Pauline said:
“I was very pleased to go and support SSAFA, because they do an invaluable job in helping former service personnel who have fallen on hard times. When we ask so much of our young men and women in the forces today, it is good to know that there is a group of people who are working hard for their support in the future”.
