MP makes contact with local councils over National Planning Policy Framework

Pauline Latham OBE MP has written to all of the Councils that cover her constituency, in order to ask their Chief Executives to clarify what steps they are preparing to take in order to implement the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF).

The National Planning Policy Framework is a key area of the Government’s reforms to make the planning system less complex and more accessible, and to promote sustainable growth.

The Mid-Derbyshire M.P has been contacted by a number of constituents on this matter, and as such, is therefore seeking reassurance that each Planning Authority in her constituency is taking steps in order to ensure that they are prepared for the NPPF.

The Councils contained within the Mid-Derbyshire constituency are: Erewash Borough Council; Amber Valley Borough Council; Derby City Council and Derbyshire County Council.

“With the NPPF, both local councils and residents alike have a great opportunity to take control of development in their area, through a “local Plan’, as outlined by the NPPF.

“I am keen to ensure that a plan is made by each of the Councils within my constituency, and to hear about the preparations that are ongoing for the NPPF.”
