Pauline Latham OBE MP meets with Rt Hon Theresa Villiers MP in Derby to discuss Bombardier

Mid Derbyshire MP, Pauline Latham OBE has met with Minister of State for Transport, with responsibility for rail policy, The Rt Hon. Theresa Villiers MP.

The meeting took place yesterday afternoon in Derby at the Bombardier site in Litchchurch Lane yesterday, along with senior members from Bombardier, and local MPs.

Whilst the Minister revealed that the Siemans contract for the Thameslink contract had not been signed, she said that it was expected to be signed in January, at the same time as the Hitachi contract.

“It was very useful to be updated objectively on the current state of affairs, and I am pleased that the Minister was able to visit Derby.

I believe that by coming to Derby, the Minister was able to understand the extent of anxiety that the Thameslink decision has caused Derby and Derbyshire, and that she realised any new contracts needed to be dealt with as soon as possible”
