St Nicholas’ Church – Uganda briefing
18th October 2009
Pauline and some of the students who went with her to Uganda this summer, visited St Nicholas’ Church, Allestree to brief the church members on the progress of the aid projects, and thanked them for their involvement.
Pauline told church members that she had been very impressed by the sheer number of people in Derby who wanted to help.
The church was also involved in a TEAR fund project to put water into Ugandan villages. Before she left Pauline received further donations from church members to help the projects progress further.
Afterwards, Pauline said:
“This was yet another great example of the voluntary sector getting involved in social action, not just on their doorstep, but in some of the very needy parts of the world”.
