Mid-Derbyshire MP encourages applications to University of Oxford Summer School Programme

The Mid-Derbyshire MP, Pauline Latham OBE has written to all of the schools in her Mid-Derbyshire constituency, encouraging students to apply for one of the 750 places available at the University of Oxford’s “UNIQ Summer Schools”, a programme of week-long residentials which take place during July and August for Year 12 students who are currently studying in UK State Schools and Colleges.
Pauline is particularly encouraging of these scheme, because not only will it add to student’s CVs, applications, and skill sets, but also, of the 2010 UNIQ Summer School students who then went on to apply for undergraduate study at Oxford, 40% of those were made conditional offers by the University.
Mrs Latham said
“I would encourage as many students as possible from Mid-Derbyshire to apply to this programme.
“Such a programme would carry great prestige, and would benefit all University applicants, and would also be very impressive to future employers!”
