Little Eaton Parish Council meeting

23rd April 2009

Pauline Latham attended a Little Eaton Parish Council meeting and met the new Erewash Dog and Litter Warden.

One of the big issues raised at most Parish Council meetings is the problem of people not disposing of dog poo correctly. There was a lot of discussion and it was decided to erect five more bins which can be used for both rubbish and dog poo. The new Dog and Litter Warden was at the meeting and was introduced to everyone and explained that she had to witness the dog actually going to the loo and the owner walking away and leaving it there, making it very difficult to give the owner a fixed penalty notice. She would welcome, however, any intelligence from the people of the village as to when the problem was most likely to occur.

There was also discussion about the starting on site of the long awaited new Village Community Centre now that the Lottery had given the required amount of funding. This is a village project which has been talked about ever since Pauline came to the village 24 years ago and it wasn’t new then! Now progress is certain and the village should have a fantastic extension to the cricket pavilion giving villagers somewhere to hold larger events.
