Meetings with Police officials

Pauline Latham had a busy week meeting with Police officials from around the constituency. On Wednesday April 22nd Pauline met with Andy Hough, the Divisional Commander of ‘D’ Division, which covers the Allestree, Oakwood and Spondon areas of the constituency.
The pressing issue of police funding was discussed, as Derbyshire and D division itself could have their funding capped by the Government.
Pauline said ‘I hope that the Chief Constable and Chairman of the authorities’ appeal to the Government to stop funding in Derby shire being capped are successful. We need to see police on the streets. The work they are doing, particularly with gangs, is critical to the safety of the streets of Derby.’
On Thursday 23rd April Pauline met with Sergeant Richard Booth at Belper Police Station.
The police in Belper have recently launched an initiative to crack down on anti-social behaviour in Belper following a series of problematic Friday and Saturday nights in the town.
Pauline said, ‘I fully support the initiative that the police in Belper have launched as anti-social behaviour is blight on many peoples’ lives.’
