Meeting with staff at St Werburgh’s School
29th April 2009
Pauline and the staff had a wide ranging discussion about education today. Concerns were expressed about being in what is seen as a ‘leafy superb’ which attracts no extra funding in spite of having more children with special needs than one would expect but without attracting the funding which comes with statements. Parents expect a high level of results from the school which always does well.
Pauline said ‘St Werburghs is a very happy school with very dedicated staff. I understand their frustrations and know how parents really do want their children to succeed.
I know that in a school like this there are parents who want their children to do well and they are very lucky to have such a lot of experienced teachers mixed with some new ones who all work together so well.’
