Pauline Latham OBE MP has expressed her support for the Keep Britain Tidy Campaign and has joined the Tidy Britain APPG. The APPG will meet to discuss innovative solutions to design out avoidable waste and change behaviour, enabling the public to take part in the national litter reduction project.
Pauline said, “I enjoyed visiting the wonderful Keep Britain Tidy display in Parliament. This is a wonderful way to raise awareness of the campaign with Members of Parliament and Lords.
The campaign is of great importance. It is vital that as a nation we work to tackle plastic pollution and preserve our public spaces. I will endeavour to encourage my constituents to bin and recycle rubbish, rather than littering our streets and destroying the environment around us.
In relation to this campaign, I am pleased that the Prime Minister’s pledge to eradicate all avoidable plastic waste. This puts the issues of litter, waste and green spaces at the forefront of Government policy. I believe that we should continue to push further and at a greater pace.
I was very happy to become a member of the Tidy Britain APPG.”
