Pauline Latham OBE MP today asked the Prime Minister, Theresa May, to join her in congratulating her constituent Isabelle Weall on receiving the ‘Pride of Sports Award’ as a Young Achiever. Mrs May was delighted to echo the sentiments expressed by Pauline.
Isabelle Weall, is now 14 years old. She lost both her legs and arms at the age of 6, when she was a victim of meningitis. Isabelle is now on her way to becoming one of the UK’s most accomplished junior gymnasts, one of the most talented trampolinists in the country and has been given the ‘Pride of Sports Award.’ In addition to this outstanding achievement, Isabelle has a YouTube channel to help inspire others in similar situations.
Pauline was one of the MPs who campaigned for meningitis vaccine to be introduced into the NHS to help prevent this awful disease affecting.
Pauline said, “It was great to have the opportunity to ask the Prime Minister to join me in congratulating Isabelle. Isabelle is an inspirational young lady. I admire her great positivity and determination. Isabelle is testament to what hard work can do. I wish her the best of luck for the future. I am sure we will be hearing many more great things in the months and years to come.”
