I was delighted to visit the Lawn Primary School recently. I spoke to the pupils about my role as an MP and about what my work involves both in Westminster and Mid Derbyshire. I fielded questions posed by children who were on the school parliament.

I was delighted to have met White Peak Distillery on English Whisky Day. 

Sampling their wonderful Wire Works Single Malt English Whisky created in the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site was a pleasure. 

I was delighted to meet family-run construction group company G F Tomlinson last week.  I discussed how the company was faring with Managing Director of Total Hire and Sales, Carl Tidey, Head of Business Development, Les Needham, and Bid & Marketing Co-ordinator, Alice Chambers.

I visited the Ecclesbourne School to talk to Student Council representatives across all year groups as part of UK Parliament Week. I began my career in Politics thorough my own children being at Ecclesbourne and my campaign to save the 6th form.

I was pleased to celebrate 25 years of saving historic places with Historic England.

I look forward to future discussions focussing on Mid Derbyshire’s Heritage at Risk sites most in need of help. 

I was proud to show my support for those affected by diabetes on World Diabetes Day.

I attended a parliamentary event to meet people living with diabetes and hear their story. 

I have held meetings with key agencies in the aftermath of Storms Babet and Ciarán.

I believe it is so important that we continue to remember the lives of brave men and women who have sacrificed their lives for us to enjoy peace and freedom today.

Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day are crucial opportunities to ensuring their memories are not forgotten.
