The Government must end trophy hunting imports this Parliament – it is a manifesto commitment and one reaffirmed in the Queen’s Speech.
In response to concerning rumours that the bill has been paused, I raised the issue in the House of Commons this week, asking for a statement from the Leader of the House regarding the legislation.
Every day that we delay more magnificent lions, elephants, pangolins and other animals are being killed, with their body parts taken as gruesome trophies.
The Leader confirmed that this remains a manifesto commitment and that this Government will legislate to ban the import of trophies taken from hunting endangered species.
