On Monday 6 March, I hosted the Rail Forum’s annual parliamentary reception in Westminster.
This reception celebrated their 30th year, during which time the Rail Forum has grown from a small organisation representing the East Midlands to the largest rail supply chain industry association in the whole of the UK.
I was delighted to host the extremely well-attended event in Westminster, and to make the opening speech before introducing the Rail Minister, Huw Merriman MP.
I spoke about Derby’s fantastic rail heritage and the number of innovative rail sector companies who operate in our county, and why I believe this would make Derby the perfect location for the headquarters of Great British Railways.
Thanks to the Rail Minister for speaking at the Reception and to all of the rail sector businesses who attended the event, from Derby and from further afield.
