Pauline Latham OBE MP (Mid Derbyshire) made a pledge to keep driving carefully and safely as part of Road Safety Week 2016, organised by road safety charity Optical Confederation and Brake.
Mrs Latham posed with a picture produced by the charity in which she promised to continue to be ‘slow’, ‘sober’, ‘secure’, ‘sharp’, and ‘sustainable’ when driving. The Brake Pledge has been designed to promote safe driving and raise awareness about how crucial an element driver vision is to road safety.
Mrs Latham said:
‘I am delighted to give my support to this extremely worthwhile campaign. A terrifying number of accidents, unfortunately including fatal crashes, occur each year and every driver has a responsibility to make sure that they drive safely. I encourage everyone to drive carefully and make sure they get a sight test if they are in any doubt about their eyesight’.
