On Monday 19th December a group of Sixth Formers from Woodlands School in Allestree visited Parliament.
The Woodlands pupils enjoyed a study afternoon at the Houses of Parliament, which included a presentation and a tour of the Palace of Westminster.
During their visit Pauline Latham OBE MP, the constituency MP for Woodlands School, participated in a question and answer session. The pupils asked a number of challenging and insightful questions.
Pauline said, “It was delightful to meet with pupils from Woodland’s school on their trip to Parliament. I do hope that they enjoyed spending time in the historic palace and learnt a lot from their tour. It was great to be involved in a question and answer session. The students had some interesting questions about how I became involved in politics, why I chose the Conservative Party and my work on the international development committee. I hope the pupils, teachers and parents supervising the trip enjoyed their trip to London.”
