I affirmed the United Kingdom’s commitment to support the promotion and upholding of democratic systems around the world at the Winter Plenary session at the Council of Europe.

I was inspired meeting Olympic long-distance runner Sir Mo Farah as he promoted ‘Mo’s Mission’ during the Youth Sport Trust’s manifesto launch. 

Mo’s Mission aims to inspire and empower all children to be active for 60 minutes a day – through PE, sport and play. 

I was pleased to show my support at the launch of the Can you C Me? campaign on prostate cancer screening. 

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer found in men. It is vital we explore ways to improve patient outcomes for this disease. 

I raised two questions to the Ministry of Defence recently.

There is a lacuna in the law whereby perpetrators of vicious sexual acts against our children are able to pass through our borders without having their phones and laptops searched, even though they are suspected of storing on them images and videos of child abuse and exploitation material. 

I was proud to show my support for the Morley Primary School annual Christmas jumper competition, the 12th year that I have invited to be part of this happy, festive occasion!

I was delighted to visit the Lawn Primary School recently. I spoke to the pupils about my role as an MP and about what my work involves both in Westminster and Mid Derbyshire. I fielded questions posed by children who were on the school parliament.
